Previous Keeper - How to Start the Transfer of a Pet's Microchip Registration to the New Keeper
This video explains how the previous keeper can start the change of keepership to the new keeper, and the process the new keeper must take to accept the transfer. -
New Keeper - How to Accept the Transfer of a Pet’s Microchip Registration (Option 1)
If the previous keeper has not started the change of keepership (option 1), the new keeper can change the keepership details. They will need the microchip number and exact date of birth. The previous keeper will be notified of the change of keepership. -
New Keeper - How to Transfer a Pet's Microchip Registration (Option 2)
This video explains how a new keeper can transfer a pet's microchip registration into their name if they know the pet's microchip number and exact date of birth. Note: The previous keeper will be notified of the transfer.

How to Update Details on your Account
This video will show you how easy it is to update yours and your pet's details on your existing Microchip Central account. -
How to Add an Additional Pet to Your Account
As a premium account holder, you can add additional pets to your account. This video explains how to add an additional pet that has not been registered on Microchip Central. If the pet is already registered on the Microchip Central database to a different keeper, a transfer of keepership will need to be completed to do this. Note: It is the law that all puppies must first be registered to the breeder. -
How to Report Your Pet Missing
If your pet goes missing you can report it within your account, alerts will go out to the local Pet Watch community. The microchip number will also be uploaded to the Halo Scanner Network so if the microchip is scanned using a Halo scanner, the finder will be notified that the pet has been reported missing. How to Set a Holiday Keeper
If you go on holiday and leave your pet in someone else’s care, you can add them as a temporary keeper in your account, so if your pet goes missing and the microchip is searched, both the temporary keeper and you can be contacted. This video explains how to add temporary keepers and set holiday cover within your account. -

This video shows how to use the free 247 telephone service offering unlimited access to veterinary advice. You can use the 247 VetLine at any hour Monday to Sunday and for all you’re pets, even if they aren’t all registered on the Microchip Central Database. In 50% of cases, pets didn't need to see a vet after calling the 247 VetLine, saving you time and money.
