Transfer the Keepership of a Pets Microchip
Change Registered Keeper
My pet is microchipped and registered on the Microchip Central database to the previous keeper. I need to change the registered keeper.
To transfer the Microchip registration details to yourself, you can either:
1) Ask the previous keeper to initiate the transfer of keepership. They will need your email address and contact number to start the transfer of keepership from within their Microchip Central account. You will receive an email and text with a unique link allowing you to accept the change of keepership of the pets microchip registration. If you do not have a Microchip Central account, you will be prompted to create one to accept the transfer. Note: the transfer link will only be valid for 7 days for security reasons.
2) Create an account and enter your pet's microchip number and date of birth to change the registered keeper. Note: The previous keeper will be notified of the transfer.
If you already have an account, sign in to change the registered keeper of a pet. Watch this short video to see how to change a pets microchip registration into your details.
